In November I wrote a post about Thanksgiving and Harvest Time: The New (virtual) Agri-Culture , about the popularity of the Facebook game Farmville and a general yearning for rural times. Well the other day I came across this company called My Organic Acres. For a fee, they will prepare a plot of land for an organic garden while you direct your personal gardener (as you sit comfortably in front of your computer screen) to plant the seeds you so desire, tend the plants, harvest them when they are ready, and send the produce to you.
I don’t think that beats the real thing of actually gardening yourself, although it is one step closer to reality then Farmville. What do you think?
That seems bizarre in a creepy, voyeuristic kind of way to me. Kind of like creepy dirty webcams but gardening instead.
